RC Car Race Monitoring Setup – Operation Guide

1. Device Overview

This setup includes three main display devices:

  • Tripod-mounted vertical phone: Used to capture a live first-person view of the RC car track.
  • Handheld mobile device: Used by the operator to monitor race data in real time.
  • Wall-mounted tablet or display screen: Used to show shared race information to multiple team members.

2. Tripod-Mounted Phone Setup

The phone on the tripod must remain vertically oriented.

  • Mount the phone securely in a vertical holder.
  • Position the tripod to face the RC car track directly.
  • Ensure the camera or live-view screen is aimed at the racing lane.
  • Do not switch the phone to horizontal mode during the race.

3. Handheld Device Setup

The handheld phone is used for personal monitoring.

  • Open the race data interface.
  • Make sure the screen shows the same information as the wall-mounted display.
  • Keep the device connected to the race system or application.

4. Wall-Mounted Display Setup

The tablet or screen should be mounted on a stable support.

  • Install the tablet or display on the wall mount.
  • Connect it to the race monitoring system.
  • Display the same race data as the handheld phone.
  • Make sure the screen is visible to team members during the race.

5. Data Screen Content

All secondary displays should show the same race information, including:

  • Vehicle Ranking
  • Race Results
  • Lap Times

6. Operation Instructions

Follow these steps before starting a race:

  1. Check that the tripod phone is vertically mounted.
  2. Confirm the camera view is aligned with the RC car track.
  3. Open the data interface on the handheld phone.
  4. Open the same data interface on the wall-mounted tablet or display.
  5. Verify that ranking, results, and lap times are visible on all devices.
  6. Start the race monitoring system.

7. Important Notes

  • Keep the tripod phone vertical during operation.
  • Ensure all devices are connected to the same system.
  • Do not disconnect the display devices while monitoring.
  • Make sure the RC car remains in the camera view of the tripod phone.
  • Use the secondary displays to track vehicle performance in real time.
