Dr. Chao Huang is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Electrical and Mechanical

Engineering at Adelaide University. Her research focuses on autonomous

systems, intelligent transportation, autonomous driving, robotics, UAVs,

trustworthy AI, human-machine collaboration, and advanced control. She

has published over 100 journal papers, conference papers, and book chapters,

with more than 80% of her journal publications appearing in Q1 journals.

Dr. Huang has been recognised in Stanford University's World's Top 2%

Scientists list from 2023 to 2025, serves as an Associate Editor for several

leading international journals, and has held Program Chair, Track Chair,

and Session Chair roles at major international conferences. As a Principal

Investigator, she has secured over AUD 1 million in competitive research

funding and has led teams of postdoctoral researchers, PhD students, and

research assistants in autonomous systems and intelligent transportation

research. Her current research is particularly focused on developing safe,

trustworthy, and human-centred autonomous systems for complex real-world

environments.
