Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials for matroids

The concept of matroids was introduced by Whitney in 1935 which generalizes

the notion of linear independence of vectors. In analogy with the Kazhdan-Lusztig

polynomial for Coxeter groups, Elias, Proudfoot and Wakefield defined

the Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials for matroids in 2016, which turn out to

possess many interesting properties. In this talk we will give an overview

of recent progress on matroid Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials and related

polynomials.
