Packaging is a fundamental component of food production, serving to preserve freshness and minimize waste. As distribution networks grow increasingly intricate, these requirements become more demanding, especially for perishable and minimally processed foods. Advanced packaging solutions now integrate engineered features that interact with the product and its environment to enhance protection. This seminar will emphasize selected bioactive volatiles that delay food spoilage and will present strategies for designing delivery systems that facilitate controlled release, suitable for deployment in active packaging.

Loong-Tak Lim教授,加拿大圭尔夫大学(University of Guelph)食品科学系教授,长期从事食品包装与生物材料领域研究。研究方向包括活性与智能食品包装、生物基与可食性包装材料、生物活性物质包埋与控释、静电纺丝技术及可持续食品包装等。主持多项与食品工业合作的科研项目,在食品保鲜、包装材料开发及可持续包装技术等领域取得了重要研究成果,相关研究成果发表于国际知名学术期刊,在国际食品包装领域具有广泛影响力。
