The lecture will present recent advances in the characterisation and treatment
of mine tailings using biocementation techniques. It will also discuss
the constitutive behaviour of treated soils and the integration of sustainable,
biological methods into geotechnical practice. The talk aims to highlight
innovative, eco-friendly solutions for challenging geotechnical problems
in mining and infrastructure projects.
报告人介绍
Dr Rajibul Karim is currently working as an Associate Professor at Adelaide
University. He specialises in geotechnical engineering with a strong focus
on geotechnical sustainability. His research explores ground improvement,
granular soil behaviour, soil liquefaction, biological and bioinspired
processes for ground improvement, constitutive behaviour, numerical modelling
of geotechnical processes and climate-responsive design strategies. In
recognition of his contribution in the area of biological ground improvement
techniques, he was awarded the prestigious Telford Premium Prize in 2022
by the Institution of Civil Engineers UK.
