Dr. Hua Lu is a Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Tulane

University School of Medicine, where he also holds the Reynolds and Ryan

Families Chair in Translational Cancer. He received his Medical Bachelor

degree from Jiangxi Medical College in China 1983, a Master of Science

degree from Peking Union Medical College 1986, and a PhD from Rutgers

University 1993. Following postdoctoral research at Princeton University

1997, he held faculty positions at Oregon Health & Science University

and Indiana University School of Medicine before joining Tulane in 2012.

An elected AAAS Fellow, Dr. Lu is a distinguished scientist recognized

for his contributions to cancer research. His laboratory focuses on the

molecular mechanisms of cancer, with a particular emphasis on the p53

tumor suppressor and c-Myc oncoprotein pathways. His research aims to

understand the biochemical basis of tumorigenesis and to develop novel

anti-cancer therapeutics. Dr. Lu has published approximately 185 high-quality

papers in high quality scientific journals. He has been invited to give

over 275 seminars and lectures worldwide and to serve on the editorial

boards of several prominent scientific journals.
