In order to do so, researchers need to know attributes of living and working people such as age, sex, race, living place, occupation, income and workplace. However those attributes are a kind of privacy data that are not available to researchers. To tackle with such difficulty in accessibility, data synthesis is getting attentions recently. Data synthesis is a method to synthesize data based on the statistical characteristics of collected data. The lecturer gives a talk how to synthesize the population data using statistics, and several applications of synthesized population data in real-scale social simulations including COVID-19 counter-measures. 报告人简介：Dr Tadahiko Murata received his Ph. D in 1997 from Osaka Prefecture University, Japan. He is now a Full Professor of Cybermedia Center, and Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Osaka University. Until March 2023, he was a Full Professor of Kansai University, and directed Policy Grid Computing Laboratory, Kansai University funded by Japanese Government from 2005 to 2010. He was an Associate Editor of several IEEE Transactions, and a Senior Editor of Review of Socionetwork Strategies published from Springer. He was a Board of Governor Member of IEEE SMCS for two terms from 2015 to 2020. He was a President of Japanese Society for Evolutionary Computation from 2020 to 2022. He is currently a Vice President for Organization and Planning of IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society from 2022 to 2025. He received the Best Presentation Award in 1997 and 2005 from Institute of Systems, Control and Information Engineers, the Best Presentation Award in 2009 in the International Workshop on Awareness Computing, the Most Active Technical Committee Award in 2006, 2013, and 2017 from IEEE SMC Society, the Best Paper Award from Society of Instrument and Control Engineers in 2019, Meritorious Service Award from IEEE SMC Society in 2019. Since 2024, He is recognized as IEEE Fellow and Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE SMC Society.
