摘要：
This paper estimates a structural model of China’s prescription drug market and quantifies the welfare impact of the “Zero-Markup Drug Policy”. Results suggest that: physicians’ prescription choices are sensitive to both patients’ out-of-pocket costs and hospitals’ drug profits; drug pricing is heavily influenced by provincial governments; branded drugs are more preferable and less price elastic than generic ones; the policy accounts for more than half of the observed decrease in average wholesale price; overall the policy improves patient welfare, and decreases the sales and profits of pharmaceutical firms.
主讲人简介：
庄晨，北京大学经济学院资源、环境与产业经济学系助理教授。2022年3月于美国华盛顿大学获得经济学博士学位，研究方向为发展经济学（侧重人力资本/健康/幸福水平、不平等/贫困、健康和环境政策分析）、实证产业组织。近年来在《经济学（季刊）》、《中国农村经济》、Science of the Total Environment、Obesity、Preventive Medicine、China Economic Review、Economics Letters、Journal of Comparative Economics 等国内外期刊发表论文十余篇。
