Abruña 教授,美国国家科学院院士、美国艺术与科学学院院士,美国康奈尔大学终身教授,康奈尔大学能源材料研究中心主任及分子与界面中心主任。他于1976年在伦斯勒理工学院获得化学学士和硕士学位,于1980年在北卡罗莱纳大学获得化学博士学位。1980-1981年在德州奥斯汀分校取得博士后经历,师从A. J. Bard教授。1983年到康奈尔大学任教,2004—2008年担任康奈尔大学化学学院院长。他长期从事电分析、分子组装与分子电子器件以及电化学能量转化与储存等电化学相关研究。迄今为止,已在Nature,Science,Nat. Mat.,Nat. Comm.,JACS,Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 等杂志发表论文450余篇。曾获青年科学家总统奖、国际电化学会Tajima奖、美国科学促进会成员、电分析化学会Reilley奖、国际电化学会会士、电化学会Grahame奖。2001-2011年担任电分析化学杂志主编,是分析科学、分析化学杂志编委。2011年获得英国皇家化学会电化学最高奖“法拉第奖章”。Brief Introduction of Professor Héctor D. AbruñaHéctor D. Abruña is a Professor at Cornell University and a member of both the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the director of the Energy Materials Research Center and Molecular and Interface Center at Cornell University. He obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1976, and a Ph.D. degree in 1980 from University of North Carolina. Then he worked as a postdoctoral with Professor A. J. Bard at University of Austin through late 1981. He joined Cornell University in 1983, and served as the chairman of the department of chemistry at Cornell University from 2004 to 2008. He has long been engaged in electrochemical related research such as electrical analysis, molecular assembly and molecular electronic devices, as well as electrochemical energy conversion and storage. Up to now, he has published more than 450 papers in international journals such as Nature, Science, Nat. Mat., Nat. Comm., JACS, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. and others. He has received the Presidential Award for Young Scientists, the Tajima Award from the International Electrochemical Society, a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Reilley Award from the Electroanalytical Chemistry Society, a member of the International Electrochemical Society, and the Graham Award from the Electrochemical Society. From 2001 to 2011, he served as the editor in chief of the Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry and an editorial board member of the Journal of Analytical Science and Analytical Chemistry.
